Laura Calko Pelvic Floor Physical Therapist Youngstown Ohio

Meet Laura Calko, MOT, OTR/L, PCES

Owner and Women’s Pelvic Health Occupational Therapist

I am a private practice women’s pelvic floor occupational therapist located in Canfield, Ohio. My journey into women's pelvic floor therapy began after experiencing my own challenging childbirth that led to ongoing pelvic pain and dysfunction. I take a holistic approach to therapy, understanding the importance of integrating the physical, psychological, social and spiritual aspects into my therapy practice in order to provide evidence-based care and long-lasting results

I received my Master of Occupational Therapy from the University of Pittsburgh in 2014, and have a decade of experience practicing as an occupational therapist across various healthcare settings, rooted mostly in an inpatient hospital setting and neurorehabilitation. I received my foundational training in pelvic health through the Herman and Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute. I am also a certified Pregnancy and Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialist through Core Exercise Solutions and have additional training in neurologic dry needling through Intricate Arts Spine and Body Solutions.

I have lectured on women’s pelvic health for the University of Pittsburgh’s Doctorate of Occupational Therapy program, as well as Youngstown State University’s Doctorate of Physical Therapy program. Over the years, I’ve developed a love for teaching, so enjoy conducting community classes and talks on pelvic health throughout the local Youngstown region.

Beyond my professional endeavors, I spend time with my husband Tom and three young daughters, participating in outdoor activities like running and soaking up sunshine, and being a part of my church’s small group. I live in the rural part of Canfield and love being able to serve my local community.
